Born and raised in Ocean City, NJ, Colleen began her swimming journey in 1999 as a developmental swimmer for the Ocean City C-Cerpants. She continued to compete with the C-Cerpants throughout her youth, ultimately graduating in 2010 as a four-year varsity swimmer for Ocean City High School.
At just 14 years old, Colleen began volunteering for an after-school program at the Aquatic & Fitness Center called Co-Op, which provided primary school students with swim lessons taught by current members of the OCCC and OCHS swim teams. In 2007, she was hired as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, where she continues to offer swim lessons to the Ocean City community and its surrounding areas. In addition to her lifeguarding and teaching roles, Colleen became a USA Swimming certified coach for the developmental and bronze groups of the Ocean City C-Cerpants from 2012 to 2015. During this time, she helped transition young swimmers from lessons at the OC A&F Center to the developmental swim team at OCCC, and many of those swimmers are still competing today.
Alongside her work in Ocean City, she served as a beach lifeguard for the Cape May Beach Patrol from 2012 to 2015. During this time, she honed her skills in open water swimming, first response beachfront safety, and ocean safety awareness.
Colleen is thrilled to continue her swimming career as a coach for this new community swim team. She is eager to share her knowledge and passion for the sport, hoping to provide the same enriching experiences she enjoyed while growing up swimming for Ocean City. Her goal is to develop a legacy program that will inspire and support generations of young swimmers.

McKenna’s goal as a coach is to make the challenging sport of swimming fun for all. Her coaching experience includes working with the younger groups at ECCC. Born in South Jersey in 2003, Domenic spent the entirety of his adolescence in the water. He first learned to swim at the Ocean City Aquatic Center and swam for the Ocean City C-Cerpants, East Coast C-Cerpants, and Pleasantville Aquatics. In high school, Domenic was a 4 year varsity swimmer for Ocean City High School Boys Swimming, and was the team’s captain in 2021.
Domenic has experience lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at the Ocean City Aquatic Center, helping swimmers build foundational skills as well as refining techniques required for swimming competitively.
For Domenic, swimming is a way of life. Not only does it improve strength, endurance, and flexibility while being low-impact and beneficial for cardiovascular health; competitive swimming provides an outlet for people to be disciplined, focused, and part of something greater than themselves. Swimming builds lifelong friendships as well as a sense of community, which Domenic believes is increasingly important for the youth in South Jersey.
